A Knox Box gives the fire department fast, secure access to your building in an emergency, without forcing doors or waiting on a key holder.

All Essex Junction building codes are Vermont State Building codes, and the State of Vermont Division of Fire Safety conducts all inspections. Any new construction, major renovation, or change of ownership of a commercial or apartment building within the City must include a building access box, the Knox Box. The Essex Junction Fire Department decides the location of the access box.

Access boxes are also available for residential structures throughout the City. They allow quick access to your home in a fire or medical emergency and can limit damage to the building.

Any single-family residence looking for an access box should purchase the 1658 Series Knox Box.
COMMERCIAL & MULTI-FAMILY
3200 / 4400 Series
Commercial and multi-family dwellings require a 3200 or 4400 series. For buildings with many keys or access cards, we recommend the 4400; the 3200 often cannot close with 10+ keys.
