Car fire on 289

At 1700 Essex Junction Fire and Essex Town Fire were dispatched to an active car fire on 289 (The Circ). 15k5 was going by the scene and pulled over, taking command of the scene. 8U61 and 8 Engine 21 Responded with full crews. 8U61 arrived on scene and gave an update of an active car fire and that Engine 21 would have the attack. 15 Engine 1 would come into the scene and supply 21 if they needed more water. Crews from Engine 21 pulled a line and knocked the car fire from the driver's side. Fire was all the way through the engine compartment and had entered the passenger compartment of the vehicle as well. Engine 21's crew was assisted by the crew from Engine 1 and Tanker 1 from Essex Town. Crews were on scene for 20 minutes and then all apparatus and crews returned to quarters. The car is a total loss but the occupant was able to get out of the vehicle unscathed. No firefighters were hurt and all crews were back in service by 1735.
