Garage Fire Loubier Drive
On Thursday, December 15, at approximately 2350 hours, the Essex Junction Fire Department was dispatched to respond to an address on Loubier Drive in the City of Essex Junction for a reported brush fire in the backyard.
Engine 5 and Car 9 responded and arrived to find a working structure fire in a two-vehicle detached garage. Chief Gaboriault established command and upgraded the incident, adding Essex Rescue, Essex Fire, and Saint Michael's Fire to the scene.
Personnel quickly established a water supply from a nearby hydrant and deployed three attack lines, quickly knocking down the fire. Personnel remained on the scene for over two hours conducting an extensive overhaul of the structure, which had many items stored inside. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental at this time. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
Thank you to our mutual aid partners with Essex Rescue, Inc., Essex Fire Department, and Saint Michael's College Fire and Rescue for assisting on the scene and with the cleanup.
