Engine 21 Responds to Underhill
At 09:01, the Essex Junction Fire Department was requested to respond and standby at the Essex Junction fire station while Essex Town firefighters were responding to assist Underhill-Jericho at a house fire. Within 15 minutes, fire command requested Essex Junction to respond mutual aid to the scene 69 Cloverdale Drive in Underhill. Crews from Underhill-Jericho, Essex Town, Williston, Fairfax and Cambridge were already on scene fighting the blaze and were requesting additional SCBA personnel to the scene.
Engine 21 responded with four personnel and arrived to find the two story home with significant smoke showing still. The EJFD members were split with Essex and Underhill-Jericho firefighters and were tasked with fire suppression and overhaul to an area on the second floor. Crews operated for just under one hour before being brought back to staging. With the fire extinguished and overhaul completed, command released mutual aid units to include Engine 21. The crew from Essex Junction was back in the station at 13:30 hours.
